I like to call this my "procrastination project". yes, I pushed my list aside and made this:
a lotto book for my wednesday morning running group. we buy lotto tickets each week and we had this ziploc baggie stuffed with our money, tickets, contract and our winnings. I just had to pretty it up! it is a quick project to do with very limited supplies.
a file folder
4 business envelopes
pad of post it notes
rubber band
you can cover the file folder with decorative paper first if you wish. from the center fold of the file folder measure out to the right 4 3/4" and score. take section four and fold into section three. make sure your fold is nice and flat and then you can score or fold over section two. again make sure your fold is nice and flat. one more time and you have all your folds complete. if you look at the picture there are four sections. section three is where you stagger your envelopes. I used packing tape to tape them down, but you could use glue, roller adhesive or sew them in if you want. I put labels on these with monies, winnings and contract. section two and section four is where I took one business envelope, licked it closed and cut it in half. I used my circle punch to create the little opening. these are pockets for the tickets and for the list of people who have paid for the month. in section two I added the post it notes to the top as a place for notes. section one is where you punch your hole and slip tie the rubber band. voila!
I used this for lotto tickets, but I could see using it as a travel journal or grocery list/coupon book with some variances. have fun with it and please send links to pics if you make this or any other projects we have posted. we love to see what you create!
*I would like to give credit for this book to Janet Takahashi. This project came from her book. check it out!
