I finally finished off my travel journal from my first marathon last year! yes - I am this far behind! lol! anyway I took some pics and thought I would post the instructions. It is super easy and you probably already have everything that you need to put it together.
I used a 12" x 12" sheet of kraft paper (any cardstock will do)
4 shipping tags (approx. 2 1/4" x 4 3/4")
ribbon scraps
label stickers
some scrap papers for embellishing
stickers for further embellishment and whatever else you want to add
pictures
3" x 6" pieces of chipboard. matboard, cardboard (for covers)
fold the 12" x 12" piece of cardstock in half one way, unfold
turn and fold in half the other way, unfold
take the outer right edge and fold into the middle, unfold
take the outer left edge and fold into the middle, unfold
fold in half and you should have four scored sections
these will form your pockets
take the right side top right corner and fold back (see photo) I used an eyelet to keep it down, but you can just use tape if you wish.
do the same with the left side. for the middle I just inserted my square punch part way through to make the square opening. you could just cut this as well. cover the pieces of chipboard with some decorative papers and then attach them to the back side of your pockets - left and right. if you want a ribbon to wrap around and tie put that on first and then attach your right cover. add papers to the front of the pockets, stickers, labels & photos. add ribbons to your tags and place them in your pockets. done!
here are the pics:

have fun! any questions, just holler!
