Monday and the work list keeps getting longer

This morning began at noon. Don't bother getting on my case about noon no longer being morning. I know it isn't. But noon is when I was out of the shower and dressed. I even made super fabulous zucchini scramble eggs for lunch...BTW Nadia, I am official out of that beautiful bunch of  zucchini's your dad gifted us. Let him know my fridge is a welcome abode for his veggies!

...but I digress...

I did a brief...and I mean insubstantial really, amount of household chores. Then headed to the Studio.

And then.... the boy child asks me to go have coffee with him. So back upstairs I go to grab a leash and some coffee money to take an hour walk with my favourite son and a Tim Horton's break....before I really needed a break...

But that's ok.

An hour + later I am back downstairs and have Gesso in hand. But I can't get the lid off. So stop to run a sink full of hot water, let the Gesso lid warm up and do some laundry.

Lid finally off, and me in a bit of a sweat having gotten the damn thing off and am FINALLY ready to slap some down and be creative. So I do. It takes about 3 minutes...now I am waiting for it to dry.

Insert massive sigh here.

Can some one please tell me what is going into the old WalMart in South Common. Rumours are circulating that it is either a Low's (sp) or a T&T Chinese Superstore. Please give us the Superstore! Morgan and I love the Asian candy aisle...

#2 Grandma Murphy

Day started out with a bang. Morgan got up late so I drove the kidlets to school then decided to drop by the body shop and see about the damage to the door. Good news, they think they can just move the door back in place and I will be able to replace the hinge at a later date. I go in Monday!

Picked up breaky for Gram and I ..egg Mcmuffins! Then headed home to shower and get ready to go have my hair done at 1pm.

Disaster #2 then struck at the salon...

A tablespoon size gob of hair color landed in my right eye. We ran to the sink and I flushed it for about 5-8 min.Then applied ice packs.  No one at  fault but I did check in with my Ophthalmologist on the way home and I do have a small chemical burn on the retina that he says should clear up within the next 2 weeks.

My hair color looks fab, thanks for asking...

Murphy's Law

My mothers arrival always seems to   coincide with some small disaster. In the years she has been coming for a visit I have experianced flooded basements, broken dryers, lay-offs, motor-cycle accidents and even the death of a beloved dog.  Truly there is always something either on the day she arrives or at some point during her visit.

Yesterday was no different. I  navigated way through the city while counting vehicles in the ditch ( 14), and arrived at the airport. As I left the Aztec a massive gust of wind grabbed my door and flung it towards the hood. Without thinking I closed the door, went and got the wandering woman we call Gram and brought her back to where I was parked. Everything's good. She's landed in the right city. I wasn't in the ditch somewhere. Green lights all round.

NOT!!

I couldn't get the divers side door open.

Murphy's Law of Grams arrival had struck again. The hinge on the door was bent and had moved the door forward about an inch. Apparently the body shop will be getting another visit by my beloved Aztec...

On a positive note...

I did manage to get finished the opening pages of a journal that is to be swapped out.

A Mole Skin journal that at first I loved in the store but now I despise. The paper is crap! Won't hold water, buckles and pills. I wish now I had just made one from scratch with the Fabriano paper I have sitting in rolls in the studio...damn...$26 down the tube..
