I am seriously starting to think our kids have it WAY too freakin easy. Sarah is yet again having another short week. In fact, I just realized that in the month of April she will attend school only 17 days.... Tomorrow is another day off for her. Hello? she just had Monday off and now she gets a Thursday off? WTH! I do not remember having this good a time while in High School. So far she has plans to go bowling, shopping and if I have any say...Costco.
I can't be too terribly hard on her. Since being diagnosed with epilepsy, she has had to say no to a lot of activities. First to go was Swim Team. Apparently you can drown while having a seizure at a pool...point taken. We watched roller skating, tobogganing, skiing and even walking pass her by if there was ice. It has been a boring winter for her. Soon though her medications will let her get back in the game. Hopefully. If not there is always gardening and ant farming.
FLASH BACK ALERT
back in the day.. Spring time meant having to wear my rubber boots to get down the 1/4 mile muddy driveway. We usually ditched them in the bushes and pulled out the anti bully footwear as soon as we were out of sight of the house. Don't even get me started on riding the yellow school bus while living in the country. An 80 minute ride people!!!! Then there were the really bad days. The ones where my mother parents forgot we had a day off school. They usually just thought we had missed the bus and made us call neighbours who might be driving by to drop us off at an empty school...Good times...Great Memories...
Do kids still wear the clothes their mother approved to school and change in the bathroom once they get there? Do they still pierce each others ears during spares? What ever happened to cafeteria fries with gravy and ketchup shared between 8 people?
BACK TO REALITY...
Currently we are all taking walks while the sun is out and Lola is wandering around the house grinning. You truly know Spring is here when the dog starts smiling!
