Thought I should post today just in case the world wide web goes down tomorrow with that worm that no one seems to know anything about..Whatever..I will update all my diagnostic crap just in case. You should probably too..just because..

Today was day 2 of Spring Break.

So far we have

• Worked at the Found Studio
• Been to Costco only to discover I forgot my coupon for the great deal on ELEMENTS 7( ..my spring break present to myself) Back tomorrow.
• Optometrist appt's
• Doctors appt x3
• West Edmonton Mall (OMG second time in less than 2 weeks!)
• Groceries n Gas
• Chapters x2
• The library...

I would love to take tomorrow off but Sarah has a friend with a broken wing who needs cheering up so it looks like I will be chauffeuring them around for the day. No biggie.

Only have 2 more weeks of  projects for that online class yet. I am hopeful that it will be finished by the end of the week. Fingers and toes are totally crossed! It will be nice to get it off the table.

Bad News..

Cold play is sold out...damn..

hmm..side bangs..

Not as easy as they look and they need some growing out. But in honour of my new bangs and getting my first hair cut of 2009..

At the moment I am t-minus 15 min away from taking Sarah to her best friends 16th Birthday party.

 

While she is busy I am off to  visit with Anam and perhaps some shopping.

This weekend seems to be setting itself to be fairly quiet. Probably just the calm before the "spring break" storm. Would love to go hit the farmers market tomorrow but we will have to see if the new bangs can handle it...

Studio Reveal

It has taken about 2 months to get it to this point. It still needs a little work and a few more things hung like my framed pics of favourite photo's, but those will come. This is a dark little room in our basement that I claimed about 12 years ago.It still works for me on so many levels. I like having a few different work spaces so I have wet and dry areas. A dedicated tech area. A printer station. It may not be pretty as some studio's but it has been built for function not form.  I even love my new 4ft long box that houses nearly ALL my pens, writing tools and some brushes.

There are still my big closets (not pictured) painted with blackboard paint that I sketch stuff out on and use as notice boards as well as a third table that is like an island in the middle of the room. Very handy for laying out projects or having a guest in to get creative with! All in all I think I put about 300 additional  dollars into the space and that is about my limit for this kind of space.

 

 

 

All in all I love how big the space feels now!

ok..so Anam's lost misplaced her cell phone and I..well my little Nikon point n shoot is missing. Hello? Little leprechaun dude who is hiding shit..STOP IT!! I am so not in the mood.

Today started bright and early and in the car by Holy Crap it is 6:30 am?! All for not as it seems boy wonder got his times wrong and needed to be at school this afternoon..NOT this morning. Brat..

On the bright side of Monday, I got to take my sweet girl out for breakfast. Egg Mc Muffins anyone? Oh! and I gassed up  FOR PRACTICALLY FREE! (Thank you mystery gal who does not own a car but shops at Safeway..grin)

Tonight I will use the big beast Camera and take some pics of what I have accomplished the last couple weeks. I am happy to report that I am now on week 8 of my online class, umm that ended months ago..4 more to go but I will get there!

Bite me Telus..

Last night got yet another call from Telus. Usually I just ignore them and let them ring. For some stupid reason I picked it up and heard how the customer loyalty program wanted to help me out and lower my rates and upgrade what ever freakin bundle I had purchased in the early 1900's..like I can remember.. I was leery but accepted on the condition I would NOT have to have any of those stupid phone upgrades like call waiting(...I despise call waiting), but they would finally put a time stamp on my voice messages..how annoying to get a message but not know WHEN you called!

9am this morning...it was official..I had no phone, no Internet and yes...no voice mail.

Out with the big ..in with the old..

Drum roll sports fans..as of 6 am this morning I have officially lost 50lbs! It is happening slower and quieter than I expected but definitely slow and steady. Unfortunately Fortunately, I can no longer avoid making a big bag or two of clothes for donation. After spending over 3 hours trying everything on that was in my closet I went into one of those "OMG am I going to have to go shopping nekid?!" moments.. then I remembered my back up clothing.

If you have ever gained or lost a lot of weight you may be like me. The first time I lost 100 lbs I gave away all my old clothes. Then as I slowly gained it all back, had to spend more money on my lost self esteem and new underwear. It sucked royally. So after that lesson was learned I made sure I kept a few things in a bin, in the darkness of the basement, where no one but me would every remember those size 14 jeans...Today the bin was opened and emptied. The little's will be please to know I will be wearing more than a trench coat to pick them up from school in.

Now to plan for a weekend in Las Vegas to go shopping....Who's with me? hmm birthday week is looking better and better~! 

edited post: FYI..3 large black garbage bags was the count. Huge Thank you to Diane for coming and getting them out of my hallway and taking control of the distribution of new to you clothes. Just another way to lose weight I say! CLEAN SWEEP!

Smell-O-Vision

A casserole dish filled to capacity with thinly sliced onions, crushed fresh garlic, 3 cups of mushrooms and some light cream. Nestled among all this..thinly sliced veal that was pounded to a delicate state. Drizzled with olive oil and white wine and baked to a bubbling golden reduced love fest. Served with freshly riced mashed potatoes and the sweetest baby peas....heaven is for dinner tonight...

Help for Elements

Teresa Mc Fayden has been offering some nice little Photoshop Elements tutorials on her blog here. I love my my Elements program. Not only was it about the 1/10 of the price of Adobe Photoshop but it was the perfect size for my brain. I would just LOVE the newest version though..it does pics in batches. No more editing one at a time for hours. I could do an entire summers worth in  10 minutes- if I would just break down and buy Elements 7. But I won't, cause I know I learn through repetition...not by batches. I am slow that way.

Last nights blizzard was crazy! Wind blowing so hard you thought Wendy and Toto were going to make an appearance. This morning I announced a "snow day" as we had 5 foot drifts blocking the front door. THE FREAKIN CHILDREN COMPLAINED!!! OMG..they are not "normal"...so I waited an hour and ended up 4x4ing them to school. UGH!

Tonight I have plans to go to the monthly Calligraphy meeting as they are having a "New to You" art supply sale and well...I have stuff I am willing to donate. All proceeds going to subsidize workshops. But....will I be brave enough to chance driving a 2nd time? (more than likely.. mother)
